Mega Man X Concept
Leave it to director Olan Rogers to not only piece together a Mega Man X concept video that blows away some of the video game live-action adaptations out of the water, but also manage to do so with so little of a budget.
Rogers pieced this project together with only $700. The video does pretty good job of hitting the nostalgic button by implementing Dr. Light, X, and even Protoman in hologram form.

This is incredible. Gritty Mega Man with the mention of Asimov’s rules of robotics. Love it.
Get this Moogle a cocktail. He looks too sober to be The Drunken Moogle.
Moogle Plushie from GKWorld
Haha! I actually got this same moogle plushie for my fiancee at Momocon the other weekend. She’s going to be a moogle at some other conventions and we thought it would go good with her costume. He does need a cocktail though. Maybe we can attack a little cocktail glass to his hand?

Super Mario World (SNES) Nintendo 1990.
Brotherbrain’s gif’s always make me smile. Super Mario World was the first great game that I played and the first game I ever owned. My aunt bought me a Super Nintendo when I was in second grade and it took me years to find all the hidden extras of that game.
We’re in Chicago next week for the AWP writers conference and will be throwing a happy hour for Tumblr writers of all stripes. We’d love to see you there.
The venue, Uncharted Books, is a new bookstore funded on Kickstarter which had a Tumblr blog before it was born. It’s a dream spot for book-web-community nerds and we absolutely can’t wait to see it (and all of you.)
Sometimes Many times I wish I lived in a more cultural area of America, like Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago.

*Spoilers for Final Fantasy IV, I guess*
Kain is one of my favorite characters in any Final Fantasy game and it makes me really happy to see one of my favorite artists, Zac Gorman, put him in a comic. At the time of FFIV, the stories in the game weren’t as deep as future games, but there was still so much depth to his character. Cecil’s problems were rough, but I had a soft spot for Kain. Kain was always in second place to Cecil. He picked a lower profession as a Dragoon in order to live up to his father’s name instead of choosing to be a Dark Knight, where he would have been a higher rank. He was constantly in second place to Cecil, even to Rosa, the one he loved. Golbez uses all doubts that Kain has, in addition to magic, to make Kain think he can become a better, more powerful person by following him. After he’s released from the spell, he is plagued with a tremendous amount of guilt for his previous actions. I haven’t finished the FFIV sequel yet, but I love what I’ve seen of Kain so far, in the first story.
Yeah, so that’s my nerd love post for the day. Love Final Fantasy IV. It was my first RPG and Final Fantasy game, actually.
